9 Dekalb Avenue is a future landmark of Brooklyn that will be built atop the historic Brooklyn Dime Savings Bank (a well known site which has appeared in numerous films and television shows), which will be restored and repurposed to accommodate pedestrians in two of Brooklyn’s defining roads. The 73-story tower will be 1,066 feet tall, making it the tallest building in Brooklyn and the tallest building in NYC outside of Manhattan, continuing the current renaissance of the area. The base will house retail units while the tower will comprise of 500 residential units. The project is owned by JDS Development who is working on it in conjunction with the architectural firm SHoP Architects and consultant engineers Mueser Rutledge.
